We have been struggling to find relevant international projects and publications on the theme on how to reformule new methods on innovative development in the districts. It has therefore been inspirational to read the book "Agains all odds: International inspiration for Danish districts" The book is part of the project "The Land of opportunity" supported by the danish strategic foundation Realdania."There is a need for innovative thinking. It is necessary to direct focus towards the rural districts’ special qualities and develop the areas’ roles in the knowledge society"

Vi har lenge vært på jakt etter relevante internasjonale prosjekter og publikasjoner rettet mot hvordan man kan reformulere nye metoder for utvikling i distriktene. Vi ble derfor svært inspirert av boken "Trods dårlige odds: Internasjonal inspirasjon til danske ydeområder"som vi ble anbefalt av Svein Harald Holmen i Vardø.
Boken er utgitt i forbindelse med prosjektet Mulighedernes land et seksårig prosjekt støttet av den danske stiftelsen Realdania.
