INTRODUCTION

This blog is an examination of the consequences that population decline has on many municipalities in Finnmark. The study is done from a local point of view in each municipality, in order to distinguish between site-specific and more general trends. The goal is to identify both the challenges and opportunities entailed in this process. The work is based on those municipalities that have had the largest percentage decrease in population during the period 2000-2009.

Denne bloggen er en undersøkelse i hvilke konsekvenser befolknings-nedgangen har på mange kommuner i Finnmark. Studiet gjøres fra et lokalt ståsted i hver kommune for å kunne skille mellom stedsspesifikke og mer generelle trender. Målet er å kartlegge både de utfordringer og muligheter denne prosessen medfører. Arbeidet tar utgangspunkt i de kommunene som har hatt størst prosentvis befolkningsnedgang i perioden 2000-2009.
